This morning we caught a cab with Silvia, the villa director, to the city center to register at Prefettura di Genova. We already obtained our visas prior to leaving the US, but once in Italy needed to obtain permission to live/work in Italy for nine months. The cab driver sped through the small, winding roads and dropped us off near a beautiful piazza.
Inside there was much paperwork to sign, Nick’s had to be completed first and then mine since I am on a companion visa.
While Nick and Silvia waited on his paperwork to be processed, I mastered several games of Solitaire!
As you can see this is no U.S. DMV… The frescos within the building were just beautiful – my apologies for iPhone photos, which do them no justice.
We made it back to the villa in time for an early morning chat session with Katie and Vern, then down to the dining hall for a delicious lunch made by Cristina consisting of risotto, salad and possibly polenta (I’m not 100% sure what it was, but can confirm it was amazing)!
After lunch we had a villa house meeting and them time for Nick to teach, and for me to play housewife 🙂
I hope this afternoon to tie up some loose ends for plane tickets home for Christmas and then do sone reading on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean!
