And that was exactly what we had, beautiful weather. Unfortunately our train from Rome to Chuisi was delayed and we missed the bus to Siena, but luckily there was a train that departed about an hour after our arrival. We all had time to grab a bite to eat and were back on the train, headed to Tuscany! Our hotel accommodations weren’t quite what they     were the night before, but it was a place to rest my head. We saw the town piazza  quickly before the sun went down, here they hold their yearly horse races. Then off to the Duomo, which was suppose to be the largest church in the world, but sadly ran out of money.

We had a very nice dinner down from our hotel, the pizzas were so large we took most of them back to the hotel and gave to the students! Had we known how large they were we would have just ordered one and shared.
The next morning we set out in a private bus for Pienza and San Gimignano! The views were absolutely amazing. We had several hours in Pienza to walk around, eat and shop. Nick and I ended up having sandwiches made at a local salami store! One of the best sandwiches I have had throughout our entire adventure! We got a small bottle of wine and ate our lunch overlooking the landscape. Not sure it gets any better then this…

While in Pienza we purchased some delicious cheese, not sure I’m going to be able to wait to get to Genova to eat it. The man in the shop was very nice and spoke very good English, we assured him we would be back in Feb 🙂

Our last stop of the day was San Gimignano, and while I like the town of Pienza better, the views did not disappoint! We grabbed a glass of wine at a bar on the hillside and did our best to take in the surroundings before being spotted by the students.
Now off to Firenze for a couple days, we will meet Anna and Luca there, as Luca will be our tour guide. I am looking forward to it and hoping to have some tasty food!
