We had an early train departure this morning to make our way to Rome! Silvia was kind enough and booked Nick and I tickets in first class, this way we wouldn’t have to battle too many people in the train. While the accommodations are not much different I will have to say the peace and quiet is wonderful! We were actually the only people in our car for quite some time. I guess this broken ankle does have some benefits 😉

Speaking of Nick and his ankle, we have another appointment when we get back for them to check the fixator and change his bandages, then on the 20th of November he has an appointment to have X-rays and hopefully have his fixator removed (please cross your fingers for him)! Then from what we understand he will begin physical therapy. I am hoping that he will have some PT under his belt before we leave for Paris! We booked tickets the other day to fly to Paris Dec 9-12 and I couldn’t be more excited, and I found us a cute little flat to stay in while there. I think it will be beautiful to be in Paris before Christmas!
After checking into our hotel we made our way to the Roman Forum and then afterwards to the Pantheon. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we arrived and they were having mass so we had to wait awhile to get in, which wasn’t a big deal but the crowd of people was enormous by that time. Luckily Nick and I were able to go back the next morning to attend mass, which was incredible. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves, as only about 50 people were there – a big difference compared to what Nick estimates 1000 the night before!

Nick and I had a delicious dinner and a pitcher of beer at Peroni, a restaurant recommended by my friend Kelly! The food was tasty, and while it was packed, the experience was a lot if fun. Unfortunately of the places she recommended this was the only one we made it to, but there’s always February 🙂
