We started our Thursday out bright and early by boarding a 7 am train for Milan. Our regular Tuesday day trip was changed to Thursday this week as the students had to go to the Questura Tuesday to be fingerprinted, and Nick and I joined them to pick up our official Italian Immigration ID cards.
I am so proud of the students because despite the weather, they were troopers. We envisioned ourselves sitting on the beach, getting sunburnt, drinking fruity umbrella drinks… it worked for awhile! The weather was miserable with constant rain and it was cold, and at times some snow! Actually it could be more described as a freezing slush, but we’ll keep it positive by calling it snow 😉
Once again the highlight of our trip for me was the
Duomo, I have now seen quite a few throughout Italy, and it’s still my favorite. Along with seeing the Duomo, we also saw some of Milan’s churches and we ate lunch in
The Galleria, where I again did my turn on the Bull of Turin for good luck.
Despite the weather, we all had a good day together, and are very much looking forward to our upcoming long trip to Florence, Naples, Pompei, and Rome. We are praying the weather is a little nicer, but I’m thinking its time to break down and buy rain boots.
