This is really the only fitting title I could think of for this blog post. On Tuesday Giudi invited all the students to an art show opening that her friend was hosting. The artist who’s work was exhibited was Thomas Grunfeld and it was interesting to say the least. There was a mixture of art, but by far the strangest was when the artist mixed different body parts of animals together. I was able to deal with the rabbit mixed with a chicken or the muskrat with chicken legs and a turtle head.

Nick and some of the students decided this is where Easter Eggs come from…
Hmmmm….

A wallaby donkey?

It was when it came to him putting dog heads on other animals that I couldn’t handle, needless to say you won’t be getting any pictures of these!
Giudi I love you but what in the world did you take me too?!?! 😉
I will have to say that he did have some art work made of felt that I did really like.

The good news was this little trip to the show allowed us to stop by the wine store on the way back and I even found out the Don Paulo’s has reopened for the season and I was able to grab some granita con panna before catching the bus back up to the villa 🙂

This weeks day trip occurred on Thursday and it took us back to Milano for their annual furniture fair. While I wish Nick had been with me, as it would have more enjoyable, I did have a nice time and glad that I got a taste of Italian decor. There was a section in the back of one of the exhibition halls where there was some student / younger adult works, which was interesting. I of course took lots of pictures in hopes that Nick will make me the item someday in his awesome wood shop that he hopes to have 😉
Nick, can you make me this?

Or this?

Cool desk at furniture show
My dream kitchen counter

For lunch I stopped with some of the grad students at Mama Burger, which was surprisingly tasty, although quite pricey. I had the best bacon cheese burger, fries and a beer.
We then met up with everyone else and made our way to Milano Central to one of Milan’s University, where there was a small set up for the 2015 Expo, which Milan is hosting. One of Clemson’s previous history professors, Allesandro showed us around as he is working on one of the projects. We had time to walk around the grounds and check out some of the projects.
On our way back to the train station we made our way in and out of some pretty fancy furniture stores, if I could only afford any of these items 🙂 It was such a great day as the sun was shining, unlike our first trip this semester to Milan. What a great way to spend our final trip to Milan. From here on out I will only see it as I pass through the train station to get to the airport – boo!
