Wow, do the Europeans like to strike! This morning we set off on the metro to the airport only to find out that the train to  CDG was on strike?!?! However, no where in the station did it notify you of this AND they still let us a buy a ticket. We think that we figured out a way to get there, we are currently waiting, so I’ll let you know ๐Ÿ™‚

Wednesday morning we headed out to Villa Savoye, a Le Corbusier project that Nick had wanted to see. We knew that it was outside of our metro pass limit, but was unsure of where to buy tickets as the passes we had let us all the way out there, that was until we got to the stop and needed tickets to get out of the station, whoops! After a half hour of trying to convince people to let us out, some nice worker men came by and let us out a side door. I had almost conceded to the fact that we just rode out of town an hour to turn back around.
The Villa Savoye was a really nice project, it’s unfortunate that the upkeep of the property was poor, but we enjoyed our visit and it was nice to get outside of the city, and for Nick to he able to visit this architecture masterpiece (or so he tells me ๐Ÿ˜‰)
After grabbing lunch to eat on the train ride back in town, we boarded our train and we were off! We had a delicious lunch, myself a French hot dog and Nick a baguette sandwhich and of course pastries for dessert ๐Ÿ™‚
Once back in the city we had to head straight to the wine tasting that I had reserved for us, it was lead by Pierre in the basement of O Chateau, it was neat to learn about French wines and how each region has specific rules regarding the production, down to the soil used.
After our wine tasting we headed quickly over to The Pompidou Center so that Nick could see the outside before the sun went down. Unfortunalty, we didn’t have enough time to visit inside as we wanted to be able to make it to The Louvre to see it before closing. And I am so glad we did, it was amazing! There is no way on earth that anyone would be able to see all the works contained in The Louvre within a single visit, we visited the Egyptian rooms and then made a be-line to Mona Lisa before ending our visit. I knew that Nick had enough, he has been a trooper the past couple of days as I drug him around Paris.
After a little shopping we headed back towards the flat to have dinner at a resteraunt close by, recommended by the lady we rented from. Nick enjoyed a duck dish, while I had cousselet and we shared a bottle of wine. After dinner our waitress brought a large board over with all the desserts, of course I had the creme brรปlรฉe ๐Ÿ™‚ We had a very nice dinner to end our stay in Paris.

Now back to Genova where Nick has another MD appointment tomorrow followed by physical therapy and then packing for our trip home to Ohio for Christmas. We are excited as we will get to see our baby boy, meet our niece Violet and celebrate Blake and Zane’s birthdays! I think we are going to have to come back to Genova for a vacation! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. We figured out how to get to the airport ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank goodness!
