Friday was Nick’s first appoint at the physical therapist, we are thankful to Silvia for getting him this appointment so soon. I am really not sure what we would have done without her this semester, she has been a lifesaver. I tell her all the time she will be glad to see the Ault’s leave so that she can get back to a normal work life 🙂
Nick’s physical therapist is the head PT for Italy’s Olympic Sailing Team – WOW! She is really nice and I think that her and Nick will have a lot of fun together! His first appointment was just her doing an assessment and then some maneuvers of his capsule, but when he walked out he was already able to plantar flex much more then when we walked in! Woo Hoo!

Check out that wimpy right calf 🙂 amazing how hard we work to get fit, but how quickly it goes away 🙁 I have confidence he will be back to running in no time! Okay maybe a couple months – but we are almost there!

On Saturday two of the Chinese students invited us to go to the outlet malls with them. I had been wanting to go so we took advantage of the nice day and went out. After a short train ride we hopped on a shuttle bus that dropped us right at the door of the outlet mall. We visited my dear friends Prada, Gucci, Armani and Burberry, but came home with two packs of socks from Puma fir Nick- lol! My plan was to get a purse but I didn’t fall in love with one to still pay the outlet prices.
We enjoyed ourselves and had a nice day with these two students. They have been so kind throughout the entire semester to us, sending postcards from their travels, bringing us back souvenirs and presenting us traditional Chinese gifts for Thansgiving. Nick and I treated them to lunch as they carried our bags for us on the long trip due to Nick being unable to help, so we wanted to “pay” them back. They were so thankful! They sure did do some damage at the outlets, I was so envious! They were telling us that the taxes in China are so high that their friends sent them shopping lists for items to being back for them!
After our train ride back home Nick and I stopped at a small bar close to the villa in San Nicola for apertivo, these two darlings were our entertainment for the evening.
They danced to music playing on MTV and at one point the little girl was smacking herself on the behind with a breadstick, her mother was mortified, but they were hilarious!

This guy stopped in for a visit as well, it makes me happy to be living in a country where people take their dogs EVERYWHERE! There were tons of dogs at the outlets too, it’s crazy! One day while having hot chocolate in Piazza Corvetto with Luca I told him that you would never be able to bring your dog into a cafe in the US and he was so surprised. It really is no big deal to take your dog grocery shopping or for a caffe in Italy. Makes me wish even more that I could have brought Renzo 🙂
